When we hear the word "hormones", we often think of "female" hormones and female "subjects" and cranky, emotional women at "certain times of the month." It's not exactly a compliment to as "hormonal" can be referred to, is it now?
In reality, the hormones are a serious matter. They are critical components of our body master communication systems, the transmission of messages from different glands on the corresponding receptors on cells to create the desired result. Each hormone has a very specific receptor on the cell membrane only for him. It is made as a small garage especially for a type of car.
It is an incredibly complex and brilliant design. Hormones are involved in every physical, mental and emotional function, not just the feisty female. Boys and men do not exist without hormones. (Some say the same for boys and men without women, but I digress.)

Anyway, the point of this little article actually "female" hormones and hormonal imbalances. It is estimated that nearly 90% of women in this country experience some kind of hormonal imbalance or dis-regulation. Wow! You might think that with many of us would suffer that medicine have come with some solid solutions now.
Conventional medical treatment often involves hormone replacement therapy or birth control pills give, or removal of parts of the female reproductive system, or to otherwise alter hormone production. For some, this might be the solution. Some women choose to forego these treatment approaches and instead choose seemingly safer options such as bio-identical hormone replacement or over-the-counter progesterone creams or various self-medication options. Most are still trying to change the balance of hormones or even (estrogen and progesterone, the two biggies).
Here is a twist in the plot: What if our hormonal problems were not really "hormonal" anyway? What if the cause of the hormone imbalance actually lower, or "higher upstream" was, so to speak? What happens when the vast majority of them were actually related toxicity?
In this case, how would artificially tweaking our hormone levels have no real or lasting success? Properly. It would not be an overwhelming number of women. In fact, if you are addressing the cause of hormonal dis-regulation in the first place not, you could still make more trouble for yourself.
Here is a short physiology lesson that help explain why toxicity as a possible cause of hormone problems (and countless other health issues) need to be considered is: Its endocrine system is responsible for the secretion of various hormones in the body system. The system is under the control of the pituitary gland, is under the control of the hypothalamus - in the brain. Your pituitary gland also regulates other important endocrine glands such as your thyroid and adrenal glands. Your hypothalamus / pituitary is like the "Houston Control Center"!
There are some toxins that your "blood brain barrier" are capable of crossing and can wreak havoc on the control center. An example is published mercury. If you do not know, Mercury has no business in our body, let alone our brains! Unfortunately, whoever silver dental fillings / amalgams (or if your mother had while you were in the womb), which has been vaccinated, who received the flu shot that has worked in a dental office for a long time, has so has most likely mercury in their system. Studies show that this mercury has an affinity for the hypothalamus / pituitary gland area of the brain. If mercury tweaks the integrity of your "office", the output of this control center is changed. ie hormone production and balance. Other research has shown that Lyme biotoxins from mold or as a decrease in certain hormones that down substantially at the top of the hormone cascade, which affects the production of the hormone every other street.
Toxins not only 'swimming upstream "and adversely affect the brain. They concern different tissues and glands throughout the body as well. Example, can bind to selenium on thyroid mercury to the specific receptor. Remember, I mentioned that this for the specific hormone receptors are there for was to happen in order for the desired result to be reserved? Garage is made for only one type of car. Now, sneak toxins in and take over the garages, the proposed car (hormone) to go anywhere. Can you imagine how these freely circulating hormones could throw off your lab values?
Worse, your immune system can begin (just) see this new connection that was created as something strange and unwelcome, and therefore begin to attack your body's own thyroid tissue. When the immune system does this, it is known as "auto-immune" state.
When it comes to the "female" hormones, estrogen balance is crucial, especially in today's lifestyle. Several environmental toxins alter our estrogen balance and negatively affect the ratio of "good" to "bad" estrogens. An example is plastic. The BPA and phthalates found in plastics both mimic estrogen and can lead to estrogen dominance. Does this sound all too common when it comes to breast cancer? Other common environmental triggers for estrogen and other hormonal disorders are: pesticides, steroids and antibiotics, just to name a few. We are exposed to more toxins than at any other time in our history known.
Estrogen dominant cancers are becoming more numerous. However, we are really addressing the root causes of hormonal imbalance in the first place? Although I have only scratched the surface here, I think any approach to hormonal problems, whether it is a conventional medical approach, or a more holistic / natural approach is woefully incomplete if it does not address toxicity. This is, of course, applies to any health condition or challenge. (I have not even addressed the chronic toxicity of physical, mental and emotional, and other chemical sources, such as diet!
In addition to eliminating the toxicity (starting with the plane of the cell), we can accurately with tests. For example, what researchers now know that it is the balance of estrogens in the body, the key to a better understanding of these hormonally-driven cancers, not just isolated hormone levels everything. For example, a test is a valuable estrogen metabolism test, in the ratio of "good to bad" estrogens and toxins may be causing the imbalance looks.
Of course, nothing works in the body in isolation. Therefore, you can not only look at estrogen and think you have a complete picture of what is going on. It is important to know the functional levels of the thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, and for a start.
Are you beginning to see why adding hormones to the mix, or using a hormonal cream may not be your wisest choice? If you change your hormones, whether it is synthetic or "natural" finish create a cascade of events in the body in response. You can also be on the wrong tree in the wrong park, possibly in a different city! ......
