Could the worst thing to tell children!

A new study shows that ADHD children do not sit still, to study and to concentrate. Many teachers and parents sometimes they still have to pay in order to wrong them.

After four years of study on this topic, Mark Rapport in the Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, reported that secondary motion is actually easier to learn. We should encourage us, a kind of the following activities, provided they do not disturb anyone else in the vicinity. While children are studying, it is perfectly fine to make them as follows: -

• Chew gum • bounce on their seat • swivel chair on a

All these kind of secondary motion actually helps to keep the memory in action. This is what most children suffer from ADHD, because this memory is very slow to kick start, but if we can keep it ticking over, then we are well on the way to a better concentration and a longer attention span.

What we can do is buy wiggly seats or an appropriate exercise ball so that children can wiggle your heart's content while trying to learn. The same applies if they have to solve a problem, while homework .. Telling them to sit still one of the things we could do counter-productive!

How else can we make sure our children. The essence is to issue to break down tasks and not on two or three commands one like a shotgun. The ADHD child is likely to lose it by one step. The best thing is to break down the instructions and teachers should also do this if they know that some ADHD children in their classes.

The sad fact is that a stimulant medication with amphetamine is not long have any positive effect on memory. That's the bad news because it means that the effects of these drugs are limited and of short duration.

In a way this is good news because it allows us to think outside the box and more and more on behavior therapy and ADHD, we help our children learn to rely forces.

Thinking Other ways we can help children is to make sure that everything is signposted and post be used to overcome short memory. We can ensure that the following are present: -

• aid post-its at strategic points, to organize them • an allocated space for keys and other important items near the door to the hallway • encourage children to make to-do lists • stimulate the use of text messaging and instant messenger to help with remembering dates • always break instructions • Always keep eye contact when telling them what to do • Keep distractions such as a switched on TV to a minimum when to tell them what to do.

As more and more new ADHD studies are done, a fact emerging is very clear and that is how we, from such a heavy reliance on ADHD drugs and on the whole child and the environment it has to operate in. The UN must seek estimates that 85% of stimulant medications produced and consumed in the United States. Well, that should give us pause.
